Vertical Circuits Inc. Announces Sale of its Aerospace & Defense UnitsScotts Valley, CA March 20, 2007Vertical Circuits, Inc. (VCI), with headquarters in Scotts Valley, CA, announced today the sale of its Aerospace and Defense business units to Admiralty Partners, Inc., a Los Angeles based private investment firm. As an ongoing part of VCI’s strategy to address high growth, high volume commercial opportunities for semiconductor die stacking technologies, services, and products, this move allows VCI to focus on ultra dense packaging opportunities in the computer, server, telecom, and consumer electronics markets. The divested business units will become part of a new company, Trident Space & Defense, LLC, headquartered in Torrance, California, focusing on supporting the component and system needs of the Aerospace and Defense market. VCI chose a buyer that was very well-suited to lead its Aerospace & Defense business units to continued growth, and Admiralty Partners, with its emphasis on Mil/Aerospace businesses, was an excellent match. "I am pleased that a highly reputable buyer like Admiralty Partners, Inc. has acquired our Aerospace & Defense business units,” said VCI President and CEO Sunil Kaul. “We felt that it was important to divest the Aerospace and Defense businesses so that our commercial business unit could continue to focus on the adoption of our low cost, low profile and high performance stacking solutions at both IDM and OEM customers.” “VCI’s technology offers one of the smallest form factors and highest performance solutions to the market, and will find wide applicability in a broad range of applications. One of our key values is to allow easy adoption of VCI’s technology within the existing semiconductor manufacturing infrastructure,” said Simon McElrea, Vice President of Product Development & Management. About Vertical Circuits, Inc. VCI was formed by the merger of TRW Components International and Cubic Memory Inc., in 1999. Vertical Circuits Inc. is a global supplier of die level vertical interconnect technology, services and intellectual property and supports customers’ 3-D cost, performance and density roadmaps.
